| Personal Anecdote: | We had owned a 530i for 6 years,
but it wasn't my "dream" car. I continually browsed the Spokane paper (our big city)
for the latest Bimmer for sale. One day I saw two ads that piqued my interest. One
was for an '85 535i and one was for an 85 '635CSi. I immediately assumed the 6 was
out of our price range so called the guy with the 5 first. His car sounded great, but
not the color I wanted. I mentioned the 6 and he knew it and the owner. He said
he had tried to buy it a couple of years ago but the owner had taken it off the
market. He said "both cars are beautiful and you'll be happy with either
one". I decided to call the 6 owner. We made an appointment to drive
the 90 minutes to see the car. When we got to his house he opened the garage and
I fell in love. My husband and I BOTH knew THIS was the car for us. We had
NO trouble selling the 530i. The funny thing was, while we were standing talking
to the couple who bought it, our new 635 idling quietly nearby, a car pulled up from
off the main street and asked "are you selling THAT?" pointing to the
6. We told him no, we had just bought it and you should have seen the crushed
look on his face as he drove off. We've had the 6 ever since and it always turns
heads. I'll NEVER part with that car! |
