| Owner's Comments: | ...this has been
one of the best cars I've ever owned. |
| Personal Anecdote: | So there's this kid, we'll call him Jim.
Jim's girlfriend's parents
ask him to watch their house while on vacation. Jim gets the bright
idea to take her dad's Porcshe out for a spin, and gets tagged in the
rear in a hit and run. Jim, not being too smart, deposits the car back
in dad's garage, and keeps his mouth shut. As you might expect the
girlfriend's dad is a bit hot when he finds the P-car, and calls the
cops. 2 + 2 = Jim finds himself in a world of hurt. Several months later... ___________________________ 86 BMW 635CSI Sporty, must sell fast $6975 - xxx-xxx-xxxx ___________________________ Having slept through my BMW hieroglyphics class in high school, I had no idea what I had found here, but hey, it's a BMW, and there are a lot of letters and numbers there, so it must be a nice one. Now $7k was a little out of my league, but knowing that those great buys are out there if you look for them, I call the number. When I saw it, I knew I had to have one; it had that "about to pounce" look I've always loved about Jaguars, but without the baggage of, well, being a Jaguar. During the test drive, our good friend Jim bit on the "so just why are you selling your car?" question, and coughed up his story, adding in a tasty bit about how he was primed for jail time if he didn't sell this car - within the week. So, to cut to the quick, Jim didn't go to jail, two days later I entered the lands of BMW ownership, and my bank account took a hit of _alot_ less than $7000. That was about 2 years and 30,000 miles ago, and this has been one of the best cars I've ever owned. |
